- Manage a caseload of clients with substance misuse issues, offering tailored support and interventions.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop personalized recovery plans in collaboration with the service user.
- Deliver 1:1 key work sessions and group interventions, focusing on motivation, relapse prevention, harm reduction, and goal setting.
- Provide information and support around safer drug and alcohol use, detoxification, and rehabilitation.
- Support clients through the referral and engagement process with external agencies such as mental health services, housing, employment, and criminal justice.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of all interventions using case management systems.
- Work closely with clinical teams, peer mentors, and partner organizations to provide holistic, person-centered care.
- Promote and encourage recovery-oriented activities and social reintegration.
- Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed at all times.
Person Specification:Essential:
- Experience working in substance misuse, mental health, or a related social care setting.
- Understanding of the issues faced by individuals with drug and/or alcohol dependency.
- Ability to build trusting, non-judgmental relationships with service users.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage a caseload and prioritize competing demands.
- Good knowledge of safeguarding, confidentiality, and professional boundaries.
- IT proficiency, including case recording systems and Microsoft Office.
- Willingness to work flexibly, including some evenings or weekends if required.
Desirable:
- Relevant qualification in Health and Social Care, Addiction Studies, or related field.
- Knowledge of motivational interviewing, CBT techniques, or trauma-informed approaches.
- Lived experience of recovery (if appropriate and disclosed comfortably).
