CHEXS is a dynamic charity committed to empowering families, children, and young people to reach their full potential. We are seeking an experienced and passionate Family Support Lead to head our Family Support Service (FSS). This key leadership role will involve managing a dedicated team, driving impactful interventions across 16 partner schools, and playing a pivotal role in CHEXS’ Senior Leadership Team (SLT).
You will be instrumental in delivering high-quality, accessible family support services while upholding safeguarding standards and ensuring strategic alignment. Key Responsibilities
1. Service Delivery & Safeguarding
- Lead and manage the planning, coordination, and delivery of family support across schools and communities.
- Deliver 1:1 casework, peer sessions, parenting workshops, and family activities in line with the CHEXS Family Support Framework.
- Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) for the Family Support Team, ensuring a safe, compliant, and responsive service.
2. Team Leadership & Supervision
- Line manage and supervise Family Support Workers and volunteers, offering reflective supervision and professional development.
- Ensure balanced workloads, high standards, and staff wellbeing across the team.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and continuous training.
3. Strategy & Development
- Contribute to organisational planning as a member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT).
- Collaborate with the Chief Operation Officer to drive innovation, performance improvement, and service growth.
- Lead monitoring, evaluation, and reporting processes to demonstrate impact and inform improvement.
4. Partnership & Representation
- Build strong relationships with schools, community services, and local authorities.
- Represent CHEXS and the FSS at multi-agency meetings and events.
- Deliver training and raise the profile of CHEXS through outreach and advocacy.
5. Additional Duties
- Participate in charity-wide events, campaigns, and initiatives.
- Ensure accurate data management, safeguarding, and health and safety compliance.
- Maintain professional, inclusive, and ethical conduct at all times.
Qualifications & Experience
- Relevant qualification in social care, family support, or education (minimum Level 3 or equivalent experience) desirabl; NVQ Level 4+, Degree in Social Work or Education).
- Proven leadership experience in a family support, social work, education, or youth-focused role.
- Experience managing and supervising staff or volunteers.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding frameworks and experience acting as a DSL or equivalent.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and partnership-building skills.
- Ability to work flexibly across multiple sites, including some evenings and weekends.
- Familiarity with early help processes, TAF, and Families First Assessments.
- Commitment to equality, confidentiality, and data protection standards.

Pay: £32,287.50-£37,130.63 per year
