Role Overview
Due to business growth we are hiring a number of Factory Operators to join our team of manufacturing staff at our main factory based on Sedling Road, Wear Industrial Estate, Washington, Tyne & Wear.
The main duties of the roles within our assembly department are to assemble coffins and caskets according to the customers’ requirements using a variety of hand tools such as nail guns, staple guns and chop saws.
The main duties of the role within fitting department are to fit the interior and exterior components to coffins caskets in line with customer requests using a variety of hand tools. Items to be fit include handles, frill, decorative plaques etc.
Materials we work with comprise of solid wood, MDF and Chipboard, wicker, bamboo etc. Some products require more work than others and there is a need for accuracy at all times and teamwork and attention to detail are essential for the role.
Due to the nature of our product, previous experience in woodwork is desirable however full training will be given.
Our Ideal Candidate
- Desirable to have knowledge and experience with woodwork assembly and using hand tools.
- Dexterous / handy.
- Keen to carry out housekeeping duties within their work area.
- Good communication and administration skills.
- Physically fit due to the nature of the role you will carry out manual handling duties on a daily basis.
- Willing to do overtime during peak manufacturing periods.
- A flexible can-do attitude to work.
