The role
We are looking for Science and Math tutors to support a child with medical based needs face-to-face in Halifax.
Within this role you will have experience supporting students with needs and must have experience supporting young people with physical challenges and fatigue. You will therefore have an understanding of the difference between general tiredness and chronic fatigue, and understand that the student will require fluctuating levels of support depending on their daily abilities.
The tutorials will take place during the day, so the tutor should have some availability Monday-Friday.
Expected Hours: 9 hours a week
9.30am - 12.30pm - Monday, Wednesday, Friday
Requirements:
- Must have at least 2 years teaching experience of KS3 or 4 curriculum
- Enjoy inspiring students and seeing progress in their results
- Must have experience working inside or outside of education settings
- Must have experience of working as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Desirable to have experience tutoring children with SEN
Qualifications:
- A BSc/BA minimum in your chosen teaching subject
- Must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Desirable to have safeguarding training at Level 1 minimum
- Desirable to have an Enhanced DBS checked on The Update Service
- Desirable to have a full, clean driver's license and car
