About the Role
We are seeking a dependable and motivated individual to join our team as a Driver / Courier Operative. This role is responsible for the safe and timely transportation of packages, documents, equipment, and materials between designated properties, ensuring an efficient and reliable internal delivery service. You will also provide support to related services, including basic labouring and office moves when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Transport packages, mail, and parcels between designated properties, including schools and offices.
- Provide an effective paper recycling collection service in support of environmental commitments.
- Deliver packed crates and packages between local libraries.
- Transport cleaning materials and equipment to designated locations.
- Transport legal documentation securely between offices and external solicitors.
- Assist in the safe handling and transportation of monies and cheques between properties.
- Support other operational functions within the building cleaning and security group, including cover for mobile service functions, basic labouring, and office moves.
- Carry out all duties in line with health & safety standards and equality policies.
Shift Pattern
This is a full-time role (5 days per week).
- Monday: 08:00 – 16:00
- Tuesday: 08:00 – 16:00
- Wednesday: 08:00 – 16:00
- Thursday: 08:00 – 16:00
- Friday: 08:00 – 15:30
Ideal Candidate Profile
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Previous experience in a driving, courier, or logistics role.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Ability to work to schedules and deliver items safely and on time.
- Good communication skills and a professional approach.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive items with discretion.
- Flexible and willing to support additional duties such as office moves and labouring.
Desirable:
- Experience working in a facilities, cleaning, or building support environment.
- Understanding of health & safety procedures related to manual handling.
Pre-Employment Requirements
- Valid Passport or Photo ID to prove Right to Work in the UK.
