Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable LGV Driver for 7.5t gvw lorries/ Case Maker to join our team at Cannon Cases Ltd in Ivybridge. This is a dual role:
As a Driver:
- you will ensure the safe and timely delivery of our packing cases to clients across the South West & South Wales, helping us maintain our reputation for excellent service.
- Check loads against delivery notes
- Load and unload goods, ensuring products are handled with care.
- Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any faults or issues.
- Comply with all driving regulations, company policies, and health & safety standards.
- Plan routes effectively to ensure timely deliveries.
- Maintain accurate delivery records and paperwork.
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, representing the company professionally.
When not driving, you will work in our warehouse as a Case Maker, producing the high-quality packing cases that are essential for shipping a wide variety of goods.
As a Case Maker:
- Fabricate timber and plywood cases according to specifications.
- Operate pneumatic nail guns and hand tools effectively.
- Assemble components with precision and attention to detail.
- Maintain equipment and ensure a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production targets.
- Conduct quality checks on finished products.
- Assist in materials handling and inventory management.
Qualifications
- Current CPC licence
- Experience in fabrication and assembly processes is an advantage, though full training will be provided
- Proficiency with hand tools.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
- Knowledge of materials handling practices is beneficial.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Previous warehouse experience is an advantage.
- Forklift licence is an advantage

What we offer:
- Full-time, 40 hours per week (Mon–Thurs 7:30–4:30, Fri 7:30–1:30) flexible starts for driving with occasional overtime available
- Starting £13.82/hour, rising to £14.32 following a 3-month probationary and training period
- 20 days holiday + 8 bank holidays
