Job Overview
New Lodge is a 34 bed nursing home in Mickleover. Domestic Assistants are integral to the delivery of high quality services to our care home. The role will involve general cleaning of floors, bathrooms, bedrooms, and communal areas, wiping down surfaces, emptying bins etc. All mandatory training provided and NVQ courses encouraged. You will be at the very heart of our industry, so you are expected to be reliable, dependable and committed to make a difference in our residents facility. We are looking for someone who will pay attention to detail and maintain our high standards. This role is for 15 hours per week working Saturday and Sunday.
Responsibilities
- Perform cleaning duties in the home, ensuring high standards of hygiene and cleanliness are maintained.
- Dust, vacuum, mop, and sanitise surfaces to create a safe and welcoming environment for residents and visitors.
- Manage waste disposal effectively, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel promptly.
- Assist with laundry duties as required, including washing, drying, folding, and ironing linens and clothing.
- Adhere to all health and safety guidelines while performing tasks to ensure personal safety and the safety of others.
Requirements
- Previous experience in commercial cleaning or within a care environment is advantageous but not essential.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage time effectively.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving with the ability to handle unexpected situations calmly.
- Working mainly weekends however, Flexibility in working hours may be required to cover holidays and sickness.
