Are you a hardworking and reliable individual who takes pride in creating clean, safe, and welcoming environments? We are looking for a dedicated Housekeeper / Domestic Assistant to join our team and play a vital role in ensuring high standards of cleanliness across both clinical and non-clinical areas of our hospital.
In this role, you will contribute directly to the patient experience and recovery journey by maintaining hygiene and infection control standards that keep both patients and staff safe.
This is a full-time position working, 37.5 hours a week with a combination of shifts between 12:00 and 22:00, Monday to Sunday.
What you'll be doing
- Carrying out daily cleaning tasks in line with detailed room specifications, including mopping, dusting, wiping surfaces, and cleaning internal glass.
- Cleaning toilet areas, including basins, pans, floors, and surrounding walls.
- Safely using buffing, polishing, vacuum, and laundry machinery (training provided).
- Keeping accurate records of cleaned areas and reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
- Removing clinical waste in line with infection control and legal procedures.
- Using appropriate signage and equipment to ensure safety for all while cleaning is in progress.
- Demonstrating customer care and discretion when working in areas with patients or visitors.
- Adhering to all policies regarding infection control, health & safety, and confidentiality.
What we’ll look for in you
With your previous cleaning experience, especially if you have experience in a healthcare setting, you will also have:
- Good standard of written and spoken English
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Basic understanding of health & safety and COSHH regulations
- Friendly, adaptable, and professional approach
- Physically fit to carry out duties including manual handling A strong team player who is courteous, reliable, and committed to providing a first-class service
What you can expect in return:
- A salary of £23,809.50 per annum
- Work 37.5 hours a week with a combination of shifts, Monday to Sunday
