One of the UK’s most inspiring and best-known faith-based organisations has an exciting opportunity for an experienced, professional, dynamic and self-motivated Secretary to join the East of England Division. For the successful applicant this will be an office based role at our Divisional Headquarters in Waterbeach, Cambridgeshire from where you will provide pro active secretarial duties in support of the Divisional Leaders and functions of the Divisional Headquarters and be key in providing excellent communication streams and support to our dispersed team.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide professional and client focused service that supports the Divisional Leaders with their specific secretarial requirements
- Manage telephone calls, correspondence, enquiries and visitors for the Divisional Leaders.
- Draft a variety of documents for the divisional leaders
- Service meetings to a high standard
- Manage the divisional leaders’ diaries, setting up meetings, engagements and making travel/accommodation arrangements as required
- Support the planning and administration of DHQ conferences, events and projects
- Fulfil relevant financial processes
- Maintain both computer databases and hard copy filing systems as required
The successful candidate will:
- Previous experience of working successfully in a similar secretarial role within a busy and varied work environment
- Excellent experience and knowledge of specific secretarial duties
- Provide high quality, pro active support to the Divisional Leaders and dispersed DHQ team
- The ability to handle sensitive information appropriately maintaining confidentiality and discretion as required
- Strong communication (both written and verbal)
- Demonstrable ability to plan, organise and prioritise your tasks effectively
- Proven strong experience of using a range of IT software, including MS Office and Teams
- Been educated to NVQ Level 2/5 GCSE A*-C or equivalent relevant experience
- The ability to work flexibly to deliver the requirements of your role on occasion
- The ability and willingness to work within, be empathic with and promote the Christian ethos and values of The Salvation Army Mission
