Dispensing Assistant – Permanent Position

About the Role
This is a responsible position requiring concentration and a keen eye for detail, as accuracy is essential. You will be working as part of a supportive team in a busy, fast-paced environment, so strong communication skills, the ability to prioritise a varied workload, and effective multi-tasking are a must.
Previous pharmacy experience is an advantage, and candidates with an NVQ Level 2 Dispensing Assistant qualification (or higher) are preferred.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Accurately label, dispense, and endorse prescriptions in line with standard operating procedures.
- Ensure the safe supply and appropriate storage of medicines.
- Order and manage medication stock to meet customer demand, ensuring date and usage checks to maximise availability and minimise waste.
- Create and update patient medication records, maintaining strict confidentiality in line with data protection principles.
- Assist in the preparation of monitored dosage systems for patients on multiple medication regimes.
- Check endorsements and patient declarations on prescriptions, filing correctly to maximise payments and minimise losses.
- Process invoices and paperwork promptly and in accordance with company procedures.
- Maintain dispensary and back shop areas, ensuring they are clean and tidy at all times.
- Work collaboratively as part of a team, actively supporting overall business objectives.
- Participate in the delivery of additional pharmacy services following appropriate training.
Working Hours & Pay
- 4 days per week plus every other Saturday required.
- Rate of pay dependent on experience.
