About Petworth Surgery:
We are a friendly, modern, forward thinking GP surgery providing sustainable healthcare to Petworth. We have a purpose built Practice, central to the community and serve an elderly population. Petworth Surgery is an established 3 partner rural Practice with just over 6000 patients. We are actively involved in NHS development, innovative and keen to embrace change.
We are searching for a detail-oriented individual who can work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards. The Dispenser will collaborate closely with our healthcare professionals to support patient health and wellbeing.
Main Responsibilities:
- To process all relevant prescriptions as authorised by GPs and prescribing nurses where appropriate, in accordance with the principles of good practice.
- To maintain cost effective supplies of those drugs that are purchased centrally on behalf of the practice.
- Dispense medication as prescribed by GPs and prescribing nurses, in accordance with current quality and safety standards.
- Produce repeat prescriptions as requested by patients using clinical systems.
- Refer patient medication queries to the named GP or duty doctor.
- Order, record and dispense controlled drugs in accordance with legal requirements.
- Patient service and problem solving via dispensary hatch and telephone.
What we’re looking for:
- NVQ level 2 Pharmacy Services or equivalent - Must have
- Empathy, reliability, and a genuine desire to help others
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Experience is great but training can be provided
