Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Driver to join our team. You will be working with a 8 tonne excavator. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods and materials safely and efficiently. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, punctuality, and excellent customer service. The Driver will operate various vehicles, ensuring that all deliveries are made on time while adhering to road safety regulations.
Duties
- Operate vehicles in a safe and responsible manner, following all traffic laws and company policies.
- Transport goods to designated locations, ensuring timely delivery.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents that occur during transport.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Assist with loading and unloading goods as required, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
- Keep the vehicle clean and well-maintained, reporting any mechanical issues promptly.
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial driving is preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge is advantageous for troubleshooting vehicle issues on the road.
- A valid driver's licence appropriate for the vehicle being operated is essential.
- Excellent navigation skills and familiarity with local routes are beneficial.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating strong communication skills.
