Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Dessert Maker to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a flair for creating delightful desserts and a strong understanding of food safety practices. This role involves preparing a variety of sweet treats while ensuring quality and presentation are maintained to the highest standards. The Dessert Maker will also engage with customers, providing recommendations and upselling products to enhance their experience.
Duties
- Prepare and create a range of desserts, including cakes, waffles, crepes, cookie dough, sundaes and other sweet confections.
- Ensure all food safety and hygiene standards are strictly adhered to during food preparation.
- Maintain an organised and clean kitchen workspace, ensuring all equipment is properly cleaned and stored.
- Assist in the development of new dessert recipes and menu items.
- Engage with customers, providing assistance and upselling dessert options based on their preferences.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure timely preparation and delivery of desserts.
- Manage time effectively to meet production schedules while maintaining quality standards.
- Perform basic maths calculations for ingredient measurements and portion control.
Requirements
- Previous experience in dessert especially in making waffles, crepes, cookie dough and sundaes
- Strong understanding of food safety regulations and practices.
- Basic culinary skills with a passion for dessert creation.
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills for customer interaction and teamwork.
- A keen eye for detail in presentation and quality of desserts.
- Basic maths skills for accurate measurements in food preparation.
