The position
We have an exciting opportunity for a qualified and experienced GDC registered dental hygienist/ therapist to join our growing, forward-thinking multi-disciplinary private dental practice in the heart of Whitchurch, Cardiff. The position will be available from November 2025 onwards or sooner depending on your days. Initially the position is to help cover a colleague presently on maternity leave but who will only be returning for 1 day a week leaving a vacancy for a permanent full day from November 2025.
The ideal candidate
We are looking for a fun and outgoing person with a desire to excel in private practice and someone who is looking to extend their skillset. Our ideal candidate is a well-presented individual with excellent patient care, communication skills and time-keeping. A positive mindset and being a team player is essential as is the ability to be pro-active, multi-task and be self-motivated.
The ideal candidate will have a desire to develop further expertise in or have experience in advanced periodontal care and be well versed in the use of air flow. We also utilise dental lasers to assist bacterial pocket reduction and pocket debridement so if you've not done this before, here is a great opportunity to broaden your skill set. Extended competencies in tooth whitening, facial aesthetics and digital scanning are highly desirable too.
The details
The position is for part-time with at least 1 full day per week building to 2 days per week as the services develop, exact hours are to be agreed and the days are flexible but Tuesdays and Fridays are preferable.
Hourly rates start from £32 depending on experience; full nursing support is guaranteed.
The clinic
Our team includes a GDP with a special interest in dental implantology, orthodontics and aesthetic dentistry, associates with special interests in cosmetic dentistry, Invisalign and facial aesthetics, an associate with a special interest in endodontics, oral surgeons, a dental therapist and a dental hygienist.
We provide all aspects of dentistry from general dental services through to all types of orthodontics, oral surgery, root canal treatments, complex full mouth rehabilitations and cosmetic cases combining advanced restorative techniques, digital dentistry, dental implants and laser treatments as well as facial aesthetic procedures.
We are a fully computerised and digital practice (using cloud-based dental software), intra-oral scanners in each surgery, CBCT machine, in-house lab and milling machine, microscope and dental lasers. Each treatment room is light, spacious and air conditioned.
You will always have a nurse at your side and not be made to work in situations where you have no chaperone.
Post-covid era safety measures are still in place with gold standard clean air purification systems in every room and high-volume air extraction offering 20-30 air exchanges per hour well over and above the minimum standards stipulated as well as an on-site laundry station. There is even a delightful garden in which to disconnect during non-clinical times to help you recharge.
