Overview
We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Delivery Driver on a self employed basis to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods efficiently and safely to various locations. The role will be working as part of a 2 Person crew delivering items of furniture to room of choice, so a degree of heavy lifting will be involved.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a delivery van or vehicle to transport goods to designated locations.
- Load and unload items, ensuring that all products are handled with care.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage and fuel usage.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while on the road.
- Assist in warehouse duties as required, including inventory management and organisation of stock.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Delivery Driver or in a similar role within a warehouse environment is preferred.
- Valid driving licence with a clean driving record; experience with commercial driving is an advantage.
- Ability to lift heavy items (up to 25 kg) and perform physical tasks associated with loading and unloading goods.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with customers and team members.
- A proactive attitude towards problem-solving and customer service excellence.
- Familiarity with local roads and routes is beneficial for efficient navigation during deliveries.
