Overview
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Deli associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and customer service, with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. As a Deli associate, you will be responsible for providing excellent service to our customers while ensuring food safety and quality standards are met. Your role will involve food preparation, upselling products, and maintaining a clean and organised work area.
Work Schedule
Our Deli is open from 6:30am to 2pm Monday through to Saturday and 8pm to 2pm on a Sunday. The vacancy for the Deli which we are recruiting is for a Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. Further hours are available at Spar Ligoniel which would involve general retail duties within the shop.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve deli items, including meats, savoury and bakery items , ensuring high standards of food safety and hygiene.
- Assist customers by providing recommendations and upselling additional products to enhance their experience.
- Maintain an organised and clean work area, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
- Manage inventory levels by monitoring stock and assisting with ordering supplies as needed.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently while following all operational procedures.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during peak hours.
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues in a professional manner.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant environment is preferred.
- Strong understanding of food safety practices and culinary techniques.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Basic maths skills for handling transactions and managing inventory.
- A friendly and approachable demeanour with a commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated.
