We need a new member of the team to help with clearing hoarded properties, this includes heavy lifting. At times you could be working in quite filthy conditions. This is reflected in the generous hourly rate.
This is not a full time, or even a part time post. It is a casual worker appointment on an "as and when required" basis. We will guarantee that each 'session' you work will be at least 3 hours, often more. Please treat this as extra income in addition to another job / source of income.
The successful applicant will also receive specialist training on all aspects of the role including the mental health implications associated with hoarding and the need to present at all times with empathy and understanding.
Ideally, the successful applicant will have access to a vehicle as it could involve regular disposing of smaller volumes of items at recycling centres or to charity.
Main activities and requirements
- Happy to undertake physically demanding lifting, loading and sorting
- Be prepared to undertake ongoing training
- Flexibility in working times
- Ability to work on your own at times, but mainly as a 2–3 person team
- Compliance with Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) requirements
- Assist with household cleaning following clearance or dehoarding
