Job Description
We are currently seeking a skilled and reliable Deep Drainage Operative to join our growing team. This role involves working on civil engineering and construction projects, focusing on deep drainage systems including foul and surface water systems, manhole installations, and pipe laying.
You will be working in a physically demanding environment, often at depth and in varying ground conditions. Experience in drainage and groundwork is essential, and knowledge of health and safety procedures is critical.
Key Responsibilities
- Installation of deep drainage systems (including plastic and concrete pipes)
- Manhole construction and benching
- Trench support and shoring
- Reading and interpreting site plans and drawings
- Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and in line with HSE guidelines
- Working effectively as part of a team on site
- Reporting to site supervisors or foremen
Requirements
- Proven experience in deep drainage or similar groundworks role
- Valid CSCS Card (Blue or above preferred)
- Confined Spaces Certification (preferred)
- CPCS/NPORS for Plant (advantageous)
- Good understanding of drainage levels and laser levels
- Strong awareness of health and safety on construction sites
- Physically fit and able to work in challenging environments
- Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
