About the Role:
Bhuku Ltd is seeking an experienced, engaging, and resilient CV Writing Tutor to deliver high-quality group sessions to learners at HMP Humber. This exciting opportunity forms part of a short-term intervention project focused on improving employment readiness for prison leavers.
You’ll be delivering structured, interactive workshops tailored to a prison environment, aimed at supporting individuals in identifying their strengths, drafting effective CVs, and preparing for employment on release.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver a minimum of 3 CV Writing sessions per cohort, aligned with the pre-agreed scheme of work.
- Develop and adapt teaching materials to support learners with diverse needs, including those with low literacy or learning difficulties.
- Engage and motivate learners in a custodial setting, using inclusive and trauma-informed approaches.
- Liaise with prison staff and education leads to coordinate access, manage attendance, and track progress.
- Complete required learner documentation and provide feedback to support programme evaluation.
You Will Need:
- Experience teaching employability or CV writing in custodial or community settings.
- Strong classroom management and motivational skills.
- Knowledge of the barriers facing learners with additional needs and how to support them.
- Ability to pass prison vetting and enhanced DBS checks.
- Excellent communication and time-management skills.
Desirable:
- A relevant teaching qualification (e.g. AET Level 3+, PGCE or CertEd).
- Prior experience working in a prison or secure setting.
- SEN or inclusion training.
- Familiarity with the Coates Review and the Prison Education Framework.
- Confidence using digital tools where appropriate (e.g., for CV templates or mock interviews).
Vetting & Security:
All staff must complete enhanced prison clearance. Bhuku Ltd will support you through this process. We welcome applications from individuals with current or historic clearance, subject to verification.

- Monday - Thursday, 07:45 - 17:00, with a 30 min lunch.
