Position Overview
We are seeking a passionate and imaginative Creative Writing Tutor to lead an after-school Creative Writing Club at a primary school in Milton Keynes. This role offers the opportunity to inspire children through storytelling and writing, helping them develop literacy skills, creativity, confidence, and self-expression in a fun and supportive environment.
The club runs for one hour per week, Wednesday, 3:30pm – 4:30pm, giving children a weekly chance to explore creative writing and develop their own stories.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise children during creative writing activities, maintaining a safe and encouraging environment.
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate sessions that foster writing skills, imagination, and confidence.
- Encourage self-expression, teamwork, and a love of storytelling.
- Communicate effectively with parents and school staff about children’s progress.
- Ensure the learning space is safe, organized, and ready for use.
Experience & Skills
- Experience teaching or leading creative writing sessions for children.
- Ability to engage and motivate children in a structured, fun, and creative way.
- Strong communication skills in English for interacting with children, parents, and school staff.
- A background in literacy or creative writing education is highly desirable.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £32.00 per hour
