About St Elizabeth’s Centre

St Elizabeth’s is a vibrant, values-led charity set in 60 acres of Hertfordshire countryside, supporting children, young people, and adults with complex needs including epilepsy and learning disabilities.

Our unique site includes a school, college, supported living for adults, children’s homes, and on-site therapies — all working together to create a safe, joyful and aspirational environment where every person is supported to live life to the full.

Whether it’s helping someone paint their first picture, bake their first cake, or make their first friend, we celebrate every achievement — big or small.

About the Role

As a Lead Instructor, you will be helping our clients build confidence, learn new skills, and enjoy a greater sense of independence — all while supervising a team of carers to deliver high-quality care tailored to each individual we support.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is kind and compassionate with excellent communication and organisation skills.

What you’ll do

  • Plan, organise and lead engaging arts and crafts activities tailored to residents’ abilities and interests.
  • Lead and motivate a team of support staff in delivering person-centred care
  • Encourage participation and creative expression to support emotional well-being and cognitive stimulation.
  • Support individuals with personal care (where required) and daily living tasks
  • Monitor and record outcomes, ensuring health and safety and safeguarding protocols are followed
  • Communicate effectively with families, healthcare professionals, and the wider team

What we’re looking for

We are seeking a passionate and creative person with a keen interest in leading Arts and Crafts activities. This unique role combines hands-on care responsibilities with the coordination and facilitation of meaningful, therapeutic art sessions that enrich our residents' lives. We are looking for someone that has relevant experience in the delivery of multi-sensory, therapeutic activities to service users with disabilities, as well as experience of working in care previously. A willingness to motivate and support other members of staff is essential, along with flexibility and a “can do” attitude to get stuck in where needed.

What we offer

We want you to feel your best so you can give your best. In return for your hard work, we offer:

  • Shift pattern: Monday – Friday (9:00 – 17:00)
  • 23 days’ holiday + bank holidays
  • Free on-site parking and DBS
  • Blue Light Card discounts and discounted gym membership
  • Employee Assistance Programme and wellbeing platform

Important Information

Our location is not on a public transport route. Please note that to be considered for this role, you must have a full UK driving licence as you will be required to transport individuals to and from activities.

You will also hold or be willing to work towards a Level 2 in Adult Health and Social Care (or equivalent)
