About the Role:
We are seeking a confident, proactive, and experienced Cover Supervisor to join a busy and thriving secondary school located close to Wakefield, West Yorkshire. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a passion for education and classroom management to make a meaningful impact in a supportive school environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff, ensuring that students remain on task with the work set by the teacher. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with young people and is looking to gain further experience in a school setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans to classes across Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Maintain a positive and productive learning environment.
- Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
- Provide feedback to teaching staff regarding student progress and behaviour.
- Support students with their learning and encourage engagement.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working as a Cover Supervisor or in a similar educational role.
- Strong classroom management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- A genuine interest in supporting young people’s education.
- Flexibility and reliability.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
Desirable:
- Degree or relevant qualification in education or a related field.
- Experience working in a secondary school setting.
