Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Couples Counsellor to join our team. This role is exclusively for a therapist specialising in couples therapy. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with couples, a deep understanding of relationship dynamics, and a passion for helping partners navigate their challenges and enhance their connection.
Duties:
- Conduct thorough assessments of couples to understand their relationship dynamics and individual concerns.
- Develop and implement tailored therapeutic plans to address the specific needs of each couple.
- Utilize evidence-based practices and interventions to guide couples toward achieving their relationship goals.
- Maintain detailed and confidential records of sessions and progress.
- Provide a safe, non-judgmental, and supportive environment for all clients.
- Collaborate with other mental health professionals when necessary to ensure comprehensive care.
- Adhere to ethical guidelines and professional standards set forth by accrediting bodies such as BACP, COSCA, BPS, or other relevant organisations.
Preferred experience and qualifications:
- Diploma, Masters or Doctoral degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, Counselling, or a related field.
- Accreditation - COSCA, BPS, BACP or related accrediting body.
- Certification or additional training in specialised areas of couples therapy (e.g., Emotionally Focused Therapy, The Gottman Method).
- Experience with diverse populations and a variety of relationship issues.
Skills:
- Strong understanding of relationship dynamics, communication strategies, and conflict resolution techniques.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
