Lead Cookery Instructor

Role Overview
As part of our exciting range of activities, we offer the Rise Cookery School, a hands-on cooking experience designed to inspire young chefs. We are looking for enthusiastic food technology teachers or kitchen professionals with experience working with children to join our team during the school holidays. Work is available during the Easter and Summer holidays. In this role, you will lead engaging cookery lessons, helping children develop key culinary skills while ensuring a safe, fun, and educational environment.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead engaging cookery lessons for children aged 8-12, following the Rise Cookery School programme.
· Ensure the safety, supervision, and well-being of all children in the kitchen environment.
· Create a fun and inclusive atmosphere that encourages children to explore cooking.
· Set up and pack down cooking stations, ensuring a clean and organised workspace.
· Work collaboratively with other camp staff to ensure smooth daily operations.
· Maintain high standards of hygiene, food safety, and risk management.
· Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and children.
· Follow all safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure child safety.
· Purchasing of ingredients using a pre-paid card supplied to you.
Person Specification
Essential:
· Experience in delivering cookery lessons or classes to children.
· Passionate about food, cooking, and working with children.
· Confident in leading group sessions in a kitchen setting.
· Ability to engage and motivate children with energy and enthusiasm.
· Strong time management and organisational skills.
· Understanding of safeguarding and child welfare.
· Right to work in the UK.
· Willingness to obtain a valid DBS (or already registered on the DBS Update Service).
· Must be at least 18 years old.
Desirable:
· Experience working in a professional kitchen or food technology teaching role.
· A paediatric first aid qualification (preferred but not essential).

Working Hours: Rota’d between 8am-5.30pm
