Overview of the Position
You will be working with a dedicated Fee Earner on a 1-2-1 basis and will be part of a pro-active team, working within a forward thinking and progressive environment.
Qualifications and Experience
- Previous Conveyancing experience at Conveyancing Assistant/Legal Assistant level
- Excellent IT skills to include the use of Proclaim (training can be provided), Excel, Word. To be able to adapt to and use any software that the Company may wish you to use for the advancement of cases and the Company in an efficient manner
- Excellent understanding of legal terminology
- Good command of written and spoken English
- Exceptional communication skills
Department Specific Requirements
- The production of accurate finished work on time
- The preservation of client confidentiality and to maintain professional standards at all times
- To act in the best interest of the firm, undertaking tasks, and dealing with such matters as the firm may reasonably require from time to time
- Ensuring compliance with the procedures as documented in the firm’s Staff Handbook
- To comply with any task relating to the efficient operation of the practice upon the instructions of the file holder or principal
Job Specific Duties
- Liaising with clients, providing updates and taking accurate messages
- Obtaining title documentation and preparing Sale Contracts
- Land registry searches
- Dealing with any queries clients may have in relation to the conveyancing process
- Working daily on a case management system
- Dealing with ID and AML procedures
- Updating and responding to any third-party queries
- Organising files to ensure they are neat and presentable to anyone who needs access to the file
- Ensuring anything on paper file is also reflected on the case management system
- Meeting with clients and going through any kind of paperwork with them if required
- Plus, any other duties as reasonably requested by Management
