We are expanding our Home Energy Advice Team (HEAT) services and are looking for dedicated individuals to join us.

At The Wise Group, we are launching a major campaign to support households at risk of or experiencing fuel poverty. Our purpose is to make a real difference by helping tens of thousands of people escape poverty, with a strong focus on tackling fuel poverty. We provide practical support, guidance, and energy-saving tips to help families cut their energy bills, improve their homes, and achieve financial stability.

Community Referral Officer - Are you brilliant at community engagement? Do you thrive on building meaningful relationships and want to help the most vulnerable households in the UK? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you!

Our Mission: Warmer homes, healthier lives, and brighter futures. By breaking down barriers for those who need it most, we’re creating lasting change.

What You’ll Do:

  • Build and nurture partnerships with local organisations, stakeholders, and communities.
  • Deliver presentations, workshops, and events to raise awareness of our services.
  • Work closely with our Home Energy Advice Team (HEAT) and operations team to ensure effective referrals and support.
  • Be proactive in networking to promote our mission and identify new opportunities to reach households in need.

We will also be considering applications for upcoming Energy Mentors roles. Our Energy Mentors provide advocacy and support to vulnerable households regarding their home energy. This is done through the provision of independent, bespoke advice and information to ensure that energy issues are resolved effectively.

What You’ll Do:

  • Work with householders to optimise their relationship with fuel consumption and efficiency over time, reducing fuel poverty and helping people live comfortably in a warm home.
  • Deliver essential support remotely via phone, email, video, or online chat.
  • Provide in-home, face-to-face support where required.
  • Participate in community-based outreach work to raise awareness of the HEAT service and identify vulnerable households who could benefit from our support.

Why Join Us?

  • Be part of something incredible – make a real, lasting difference in your community.
  • Work for an organisation that values and supports its colleagues with fantastic benefits.
  • Gain valuable experience in a role that’s as rewarding as it is impactful.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, with the confidence to present and engage with diverse audiences.
  • A self-starter who’s comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft programs, such as Excel and Outlook.
  • A driving licence and access to a car is preferred due to the nature of the role.
