We’re offering a unique opportunity for a Community Connector to play a key role in a local Workforce Development Initiative in Cannock Chase. This programme supports residents to upskill, gain confidence and move closer to employment, education, or training.
You’ll be at the heart of the community—connecting people with life-changing opportunities in skills training, wellbeing, and work readiness.
Key Responsibilities
As a Community Connector , you will:
Engage with residents through outreach in community centres, partnership working, and digital engagement.
Hold a caseload of participants and conduct diagnostic assessments to develop SMART learning plans.
Deliver tailored one-to-one support focused on confidence, motivation, and practical steps toward work or learning.
Refer participants to relevant accredited training and life skills courses in areas such as:
Functional English & Maths
ESOL
Digital Skills
Green Growth Skills
Life Skills (e.g. cooking, travel, arts, wellbeing)
Work with key target groups , including those who are:
On low incomes or economically inactive
Digitally excluded
Living with poor health or low financial capability
Lacking basic skills or confidence
Experience providing one-to-one support, coaching or mentoring.
Background in employment, training, or personal development services.
Strong communication skills and the ability to engage and motivate people from a wide range of backgrounds.
Confident using digital tools, email, and Microsoft Office.
Organised, target-driven, and able to manage a varied caseload effectively.
Willingness to travel locally and work flexibly within the community.
Familiarity with the Cannock Chase labour market and local services.
Experience working with community partners, Jobcentre Plus, or training providers.
