There is an excellent opportunity to join the award-winning Dyfed Pension Fund team who has a vacancy for an enthusiastic, self-motivated Communications & Training Officer. The Dyfed Pension Fund administers the Local Government Pension Scheme for a number of employers, and the Police and Fire Pension Schemes.
We are a busy section and pride ourselves in providing the best service we can to our pension scheme members and pensioners. We are looking for an experienced individual who is studying towards or has attained the CIPP Foundation Degree in Pensions Management and Administration.
Your duties will include:
- To maintain a thorough working knowledge of all legislation affecting the local government pension scheme, Dyfed Pension Fund and the Police and Fire schemes.
- To deliver presentations on highly complex areas within pensions and explain concepts in a clear and concise manner.
- Liaise with scheme employers to resolve non-routine issues and to advise on new developments.
- Identify and assist with the training and development needs of the members of the team, including system legislation and scheme updates to ensure service quality standards are met.
Candidates should have:
- Extensive experience of working in local government pension administration
- In-Depth knowledge of the Pensions System software and fully integrated applications
- Ability to deliver presentations on complex areas within pensions and explain concepts in a clear and concise manner. experience of presentation of seminars and training events
- Ability to deliver training in both formal and informal situations and communicate clearly and effectively at all levels
Initial training will be full time office based for a minimum of 3 months. We also have flexible working hours; flexible start and finish times around ‘core working hours’.
