Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Cold Storage Warehouse or Facility Supervisor to support our warehouse team.
The ideal candidate will possess a background in warehouse / facilities / distribution centre, as well as leading and or supervising a team, and completing operational paperwork.
You will be responsible for overseeing daily routine operational and administrational requirements, data entry, filing, and booking / tracking customer container deliveries, as well as allocating resources.
This role requires a proactive individual who can effectively manage their time and the teams time and adapt to the fast-paced environment.
We also need someone who can jump onto a forklift and support the team as and when required, complete manual loading and unloading when required, and potentially support in cold storage facilities of -18 or -21 degrees when required.
Working full-time Monday to Friday from 7:30am till 5:30pm
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of warehouse staff to ensure optimal performance and adherence to company policies.
- Oversee shipping and receiving operations, ensuring accurate documentation and timely processing of goods.
- Implement and maintain effective business processes to enhance operational efficiency within the warehouse.
- Manage inventory control, including materials handling, stock rotation, and minimizing discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a culture of safety within the team.
- Conduct regular training sessions for staff on equipment operation, including forklift usage and heavy lifting techniques.
- Collaborate with third-party logistics (3PL) providers to streamline operations and improve service delivery.
- Utilize AS400 systems for inventory management and reporting purposes.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience in warehouse management or a similar supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of logistics, shipping, receiving, and materials handling practices.
- Familiarity with business processes relevant to warehouse operations.
- Experience in team management with excellent leadership capabilities.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in all aspects of work.
- Reach Truck License advantageous.
- WMS experience.
Essentials:
- Able to work a full-time permanent job in the UK.
- Live in the Southampton area.
- Valid training certificate or license for forklift truck driving (ideally Reach Truck).
- Physically fit and able to lift and carry up to 25kg and work in chiller storage.
- Team leader or supervisory experience.
- Logistics and warehouse experience.
