As part of our continued growth and expansion into new business areas, we are looking for a CNC Programmer/Setter to join our versatile team.
This role will be key in overseeing production processes, driving continuous improvements, and supporting lean manufacturing initiatives.
Responsibilities & Essential Criteria:
- Program and set up CNC machines with Fanuc controls for both vertical milling and turning operations.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications, ensuring parts are manufactured to precise tolerances.
- Proficient in CAD/CAM (experience with Creo and Fusion 360 is preferred).
- Actively support the Sales Team in cost estimation for new projects, including customer interactions.
- Develop and optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency and quality.
- Collaborate with the Manufacturing Engineering Team Leader and Senior Engineers to meet production targets and engage in continuous improvement initiatives, offering advice on Design for Manufacture (DFM).
- Mechanical knowledge - having experience in mechanical environment.
- Assist in investigating and implementing process improvements.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures.
- Perform routine machine maintenance to ensure equipment is kept in optimal working condition.
- Train and mentor team members to foster continuous development.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team.
- Strong mechanical knowledge and hands-on experience in designing and implementing tooling solutions.
- Adhere to all health and safety guidelines, ensuring good housekeeping and a clean work environment.
Rate depending on skillset and experience.
