Job Title: Clubhouse & Bar Supervisor
Employment Type: Full-time (would consider job sharing for the right candidates)
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on candidate that is reliable, driven and creative within a front of house role, showing strong initiative skills and problem solving capability.
You will support the leadership team to deliver outstanding member services, acting as the customer link between our operations and our clubhouse users. You will strive to find ways to develop talent within our teams and act as a role model to enhance the performance and experience for all.
Ideally, you will have proven experience in Bar and Cellar Management/Operations, as well as leading a team within a varied Hospitality environment, and be happy to work towards your personal license and cellar management qualifications. Developmental opportunities will be provided for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Support
- Assist with opening and closing duties for the Clubhouse and Bar.
- Take responsibility for the Clubhouse and Bar operations in the absence of the Manager.
- Champion Health & Safety by ensuring emergency procedures are followed and compliance tasks are actioned and documented as necessary.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and presentation across all bar and clubhouse areas.
- Support stock handling, deliveries, and correct storage procedures.
Bar & Cellar Management
Support and manage the operation of our Clubhouse and Bar, ensuring exceptional service, product quality, and atmosphere.
Support our stock management processes and manage your team to follow our asset processes. Support ordering, receiving, inventory control, stock takes, key line checks, stock rotation, and wastage as advised.
Maintain cellar operations to the highest standard including beer line cleaning, temperature control, stock rotation, and proper storage (full training will be provided).
Ensure compliance with licensing laws, health and safety regulations, and all club policies relating to alcohol service (full training will be provided).
Support and input the creation of bar menus and product lines, promotions, and pricing in line with member preferences and profitability targets.
Staff Supervision and development
- Support and supervise a team of staff during shifts, ensuring smooth and efficient service.
- Lead by example, especially during busy periods, events, or manager absence.
- Assist with training of new team members and help uphold customer service standards.
- Review opportunities to develop staff and support Club PDP (Personal Development Plans) with new opportunities and enhancements.
Customer Service
- Provide a warm, professional welcome to all members and guests.
- Create social events and opportunities to run within our events calendar to create WOW moments/events for our Clubhouse users and teams.
- Handle customer feedback and minor issues confidently and diplomatically. Report and escalate as necessary.
- Act as a point of contact for member enquiries when the admin teams are unavailable.
Compliance & Safety
- Adhere to all licensing laws, health & safety, and hygiene regulations (full training provided)
- Follow payment and till procedures accurately and securely.
- Accurately complete necessary paperwork and processes as required for Incidents, Hazards, Accidents and other Emergency events.
Profitability Duties
· Support the control of budgets by monitoring wastage, training issues of wastage, maintain work hours and flexing as necessary, implementing club sustainability efforts (such as lights off, and use of water bottles), all without compromising quality.
· Encourage upselling at all times on shift and set fun targets to your team to create a culture that buys in to this confidently and effectively.
· Use all downtime opportunities to complete Club cleanliness tasks, next day preparations, staff development, personal development, designing opportunities/events, or researching strategy opportunities for us to maximise effectively in the Club.
Requirements
Essential
- Experience in a bar or hospitality setting, with some supervisory or team-leading exposure.
- Confidence in cellar tasks and bar operations.
- Ability to take initiative and responsibility at all times and become an ambassador for the Club and its Staff.

- A Personal Licence (or be willing to work towards)
- Cellar Management Qualification (or be willing to work towards)
- Food Safety/Hygiene Certificates (or be willing to work towards)
- Knowledge of bar stock systems and event support.
- First Aid certification.
- Enhance DBS (due to the nature of our operations and requirement of the role, all successful applicants must complete this before appointment)

Working Hours
- Flexible shifts typically made up of days, evenings, weekends, public holidays and club events. Availability to cover absences and pick up supporting hours/shifts is essential.
