About the Team
Our award-winning Accounting and Outsourcing team at Forvis Mazars is a dynamic and rapidly growing group of over 300 professionals. We support businesses of all sizes by delivering flexible, scalable, and sustainable back-office finance functions. Our team spans financial outsourcing, financial reporting, payroll, and company secretarial services, and we are proud to be at the forefront of innovation and client service.
Job Purpose
Due to continued growth, we are seeking a proactive and ambitious part qualified ornewly qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/ICAS/CIMA) to join our expanding outsourcing and advisory department. The successful candidate will work predominantly within the advisory team, providing finance function optimisation services to clients,. This role is ideal for someone with an accounting background who is passionate about accounting software and process improvement and has strong analytical and project management.
Role & Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of ongoing and new advisory projects for a diverse portfolio of clients, with turnover ranging from £10m - £200m, across multiple sectors.
- Challenge existing client systems and processes and to drive automation and efficiencies
- Process map current state activities and support with interviews and walkthroughs
- Review and recommend changes to finance functions processes to identify opportunities for improvement and efficiency
- Collaborate with clients to implement accounting software solutions and enhance financial systems
- Provide interim support to clients
- Support with audit readiness
- Analyse financial data and perform accounting reconciliations
- Prepare management accounts and take on Financial Controller responsibilities
- Support clients with audit related requirements including processes, controls and risk management.
- Assist on financial modelling engagements, to support client with business planning or specific transactions
- Work closely with colleagues to deliver high-quality client service
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards and regulatory changes
Key Requirements
- Newly qualified or part qualified, in final stages of exams
- Experience in an outsourcing or business services environment for at least 3 years
- Proficient in cloud-based accounting software (e.g., Xero, Sage, Iplict, NetSuite).
- Advanced Excel skills
- Strong analytical skills and a commercial mindset
- Confident communicator with the ability to challenge constructively and influence stakeholders
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, client-facing role with multiple deadlines with effective time management skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
