We are recruiting a cleaner to join our team. You will join the Property Team who look after the site and will be responsible for ensuring that the public areas of The Bishop’s Palace are clean and welcoming to the public.
The Bishop’s Palace is a heritage Visitor Attraction. The 13th century medieval palace that has been home to the Bishops of Bath and Wells for over 800 years with breath-taking gardens, surrounded by a moat, drawbridge and iconic gatehouse you couldn’t ask for a more beautiful and inspirational place to work. As a charity, The Palace Trust, has the mission to protect The Bishop’s Palace by ensuring financial stability through engaging a wide range of people for their enjoyment and learning.
Main duties include:
Clean, sanitise and restock toilets/restrooms
Sweeping, vacuuming, mopping in the Palace building, offices and meeting rooms
Cleaning, dusting, polishing and waste removal across public areas and offices
Notify Property Manager of deficiencies or repairs required
Carrying out / assisting with Deep cleans as per cleaning schedule
To join our team you will have:
Ideally some experience working as a commercial/office cleaner
Good interpersonal and communication skills
High level of attention-to-detail and take pride in your work
Good organisational abilities and use your initiative
Ability to work unsupervised and deliver quality work
Positive and approachable manner
We are happy to discuss hours which could be between 6-15 hours per week. The current hours we are looking for include Friday, Saturday and Sunday 7am until 9.30am. There will also be the opportunity for some additional hours when we have events taking place. This could be every couple of weeks but does vary throughout the year. For the right candidates we would consider cleaning taking place the evening before.
