Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Caretaker to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and order within our facilities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all occupants. This position requires a strong attention to detail, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team. The job is being advertised as 18 hours per week, however we may ask for more hours if we require.
Duties
- Perform general cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming of designated areas.
- Maintain cleanliness in restrooms, kitchen, and communal spaces.
- Dispose of waste and recycling in accordance with company policies.
- Ensure that all cleaning supplies are stocked and properly stored.
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the Management team.
- Assist with special cleaning projects as needed, such as deep cleaning or event preparation.
- Conducting routine checks to maintain site safety and security
- Carrying out maintenance and repair tasks. (eg. Basic DIY, unclogging drains, replacing door handles, painting, buffing the floors.)
- Hedge cutting in the playground area
Skills
- Must be able to pass an enhanced DBS criminal record check.
- Successful reference checks (x2) from past 2 places of work.
- Proven experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial roles is highly desirable.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
- Basic maintenance or DIY experience is essential.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively within a team.

- Training online will be essential on our online training log, these include; healthy & safety, manual handling, working at height, keeping children safe in education, COSHH (Control of substances hazardous to health) - cleaning products to be kept locked away. - These training modules are completed annually from home.
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: £13.50-£15.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 18 per week
