Job Summary

This is a small family run business where you won't be treated as a number but as part of a team. We are looking for a Driver required to work as a Tramper Monday to Friday. Duties include delivery and collection with curtain side trailers to and from various Docks across the UK.
ADR is advantageous but not essential , must be 25 and over with at least 6 months experience in driving Class 2 with good tachograph knowledge. New passes will be considered with the Class 2 experience.
You will have your own truck that no one else will drive unless holiday cover. All trucks are kept to a high spec and are all fitted with fridge and microwave.
Duties
- Operate a Class 1 HGV lorry for delivery and collections
- Ensure the safe loading and unloading of goods, securing loads appropriately to prevent damage during transit.
- Conduct thorough pre-journey checks on the vehicle to ensure it is roadworthy and compliant with safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including timesheets, delivery notes, and any incidents that may occur during transit.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving, promoting safe driving practices at all times.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, representing the company in a professional manner.
Skills
- Proven experience as a delivery driver with a valid Class 1 HGV licence.
- Strong commercial driving skills with an emphasis on safety and efficiency.
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in record keeping and load management.
- Good communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving
