You'll be a guiding light for young people with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and challenging behaviours, often stemming from trauma-informed backgrounds. What You'll Be Doing (and Why It Matters)
As a Children's Support Worker, your responsibilities will include:
- Empowering Independence: Encouraging young people to engage in activities and take responsibility for their lives, tailored to their age.
- Creating a Haven: Maintaining the homely, friendly culture and environment of the residences.
- Expert Support: Safely and sympathetically supporting challenging behaviour when needed.
- Ensuring Safety: Protecting children and young people from risks to their health and welfare, maintaining a safe environment, and staying updated on individual care plans, guidelines, and communication preferences.
- Promoting Well-being: Providing crucial support to promote their independence and overall well-being.
- Building Bridges: Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with staff, parents, social workers, and other professionals like psychologists.
