The role
We are looking for Residential Support Workers to join our team in Wellingborough who have the desire to provide children and young people with support that enables them to learn and develop and lead fulfilling lives full of positive experiences. Our home supports up to 2 children with learning disabilities and autism, aged 11-17.
Previous experience working with children is essential, however, full training will be provided. The ideal candidate will hold or be willing to work towards a NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare.
With Assisted Living Care Group, be part of a team that provides a safe and loving home for children and young people, led and supported by a registered manager. As a residential support worker, you will:
- Provide therapeutic care to children and young people
- Act as a positive role model to support children to develop
· Plan and action activities proactively, taking an interest in all aspects of the young person’s life, health, and well-being to ensure that individualised needs are met
- Support children in their activities of daily living and support them to increase their independence, helping them maintain a routine
- Provide emotional support to children and help them express emotions healthily
- Build positive relationships with each child/ young person at the home and promote development of positive relationships with peers and adults
- Use and promote the principles of ‘Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity and Empathy’ (PACE) in everyday working with the aim of providing attachment security through consistent and attuned approaches
- Support and encourage children/ young people to participate in decision making and planning of their futures.
- Recognise, respond, record, and refer any safeguarding concerns in line with the home’s Safeguarding Policy, protecting children from harm.

Pay: £12.82 per hour

Experience:
