CHISVA’s are Independent Sexual. Violence Advisers for children and young people. We work with children under 18. A CHISVA is a specialist worker who can help & provide support to children & young people if they have experienced rape, sexual abuse +/or sexual exploitation.

Hours: 37hrs Monday to Friday (occasional weekend/evening cover)
Salary: £25,214.40 (non-qualified) - £27,468.99 (accredited ISVA/CHISVA qualified)

Main purposes of the posts
Provide Independent Sexual Violence Advocacy for Children and Young People (CYP) who have experienced sexual violence and abuse
To provide pro-active services to children and young people (aged 0 – 18) who have been victims of sexual abuse and/or rape within and outside the criminal justice system.
Working with CYP and their families to build trust and confidence, enabling them to share their experience
1. Utilise trauma-informed methods to offer tailored, practical and emotional support; routinely advocating for and facilitating clients’ access to appropriate agencies
2. Liaising with other professionals on their behalf, supporting clients before, during, and after criminal and civil court proceedings
3. Supporting CYPs to access their rights, healthcare, and other services such as therapeutic services
4. Responding to safeguarding issues quickly and appropriately
5. Raising awareness on the difference between healthy and unhealthy relationships, grooming, consent, and sexual violence.
In return we offer full training, a competitive salary of between £25,214.40 - £27,468.99 dependent on qualifications and experience and 3% pension following a successful probationary period.
The post holder will work within a multi-agency setting and communicate regularly with other agencies. This role is subject to successful NPPV2 Police Vetting & Enhanced DBS Checks. Full UK Driving License & use of own vehicle required
