Our client is is a bridge lending business that specialises in providing short term finance to small and medium-sized property developers, traders, and investors. All loans are typically secured against completed or refurbishment, residential and some commercial projects. Formed in January 2020, we have experienced significant growth and now has a combined group loan book in excess of 49m. The company is aiming to reach a 100m lending book by YE Dec 2026.
As we enter an exciting stage of our business, we're now seeking to hire an in-house Chartered Surveyor to join our team.
Role Overview
Our client are seeking a qualified MRICS Chartered Surveyor to join our in-house team, focusing on property valuations and risk assessments for bridging and development finance. This role is pivotal in ensuring that all loan applications are underpinned by accurate, market-aligned valuations and comprehensive due diligence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct internal desktop and site-based valuations in line with RICS standards
- Review third-party valuation reports and assess property risks for secured lending
- Evaluate development projects for feasibility, cost, and return analysis
- Collaborate with underwriting, legal, and operations teams throughout the loan lifecycle
- Produce clear, structured reports and recommendations for lending decisions
- Monitor market trends to support accurate valuations and risk mitigation
- Assist with distressed asset strategies and exit planning
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and Red Book standards
Key Requirements:
- MRICS Chartered Surveyor with 5+ years experience (3+ post-qualification)
- Strong background in valuations for lending, development, or investment
- Solid understanding of property law, planning, and development viability
- Analytical and commercially astute, with excellent communication skills
- Comfortable with both field inspections and desktop assessments
Desirable:
- Experience in bridging or development finance
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and deadlines
- Proactive and collaborative, with a strong risk management mindset
