Orchard Park Farms comprises of over 200 ha of cider apple orchards under management based in a beautiful part of Somerset near Shepton Mallet. Primarily cider apple growers and juice processor for cider, we are committed to agricultural work supporting bio-diversity net gain through positive ecological improvements, as well as hosting public facing events throughout the year. Responsibilities include: Pressing and making over 1 million litres of base cider at harvest time (Aug - Dec); Racking liquid into tanks; On-going care of base cider; Working in the orchards; Cider tours/tasting & other farm events.
The job requires you to be:
Enthusiastic for the cider industry, with knowledge of fermentation and yeasts. Experience with basic lab equipment and cleaning. Experience with forklifts is desirable but not essential.
You need to be: Self Motivated; Work well alone as well as within a team; Excellent time keeping; Reliable; Organized; Accurate and sound record keeping; Good IT skills; Positive can-do attitude; Willingness to learn new techniques; Show high standards of work regarding cleanliness; tidiness, and communication. Work extra hours/ weekends during busy apple harvest season. Able to show evidence of the Right to Work in the UK.
Previous apple processing experience desirable, but not essential. Food Hygiene Certificate - level 2 desirable but not essential.
Full UK driving license with trailer towing license, essential.
