Job Introduction
SEND Short Breaks offer activities to children and young people throughout Bradford districts. Our aim is to provide positive inclusive experiences for children and young people with special educational needs or disabilities. The activities we provide are offered in partnership with community organisations that can provide social inclusion.
We are looking for a number of Casual Leisure and Recreational Support Staff to join our dedicated team in the Children's Department. This role is an opportunity to make a real difference in our vibrant and diverse city.
The main responsibilities of this role:
- Assist in the development of activities
- Work closely with Short Breaks staff, other professionals and parent carers
- Contribute to the provision of a high-quality service for children and young people
- Ensure the needs of the children and young people are met
- Contribute to the social, emotional, physical, behavioural, and educational needs of the children and young people.
- Ensure confidentiality of information in line with Data Protection Act 1998.
- Adhere to safeguarding policy and procedures
- Attend training relevant to the post
After induction, you will be expected to work without direct supervision and will receive formal professional supervisions from a Special Inclusion Coordinator.
You will be responsible for your own professional conduct, ensuring you act as a role model and high standards are met.
An enhanced disclosure check with the Disclosure and Barring Service will be undertaken for this post.
