Job Requirements:
- Provide an on-site presence when required.
- Cover shifts at short notice. Including evenings and weekends.
- Ensure a welcoming and supportive environment for service users of the Malcolm X Community Centre
- Open and close the building, following all security procedures
- when on site act as a nominated keyholder and point of contact for security and fire alerts.
- Maintain and improve the exterior and interior of the premises, including tasks such as emptying bins, recycling, litter picking, inspecting and clearing drains, weeding, etc.
- Undertake basic DIY and repairs when required.
- General Waste Management
- Perform routine cleaning duties when needed, especially after events.
- Ensure adequate levels of stock are available for use.
- Maintain and adhere to all health and safety guidelines.
- Effectively communicate and build working relationships with Centre users, staff, volunteers, and trustees.
- Undertake relevant training when necessary.
- Undertake any other duties in line with the status of the post as directed by the line Manager.
- Maintain a polite, approachable, and helpful demeanour.
- Show enthusiasm and promote positivity in all interactions.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding Centre business, users, and volunteers.
- Punctuality and being 'on call' are essential.
****Note: This is an ad hoc bank staff position, and flexibility is required to meet the needs of the Malcolm X Community Centre.
Job Types: Freelance, Zero hours contract
Pay: £12.21-£12.30 per hour
