The Care of the Elderly post available is detailed below and will be available to start from August 2025. Core: The post holder will be responsible for the continuity of patient care for patients being treated on Care of the Elderly wards including opportunities to work on the Older Persons Assessment Unit, Kewstoke ward (acute medicine for the older person), Uphill ward (acute medicine for the older person ward and stroke rehabilitation) and Draycott ward (complex discharge). The success candidate will also be supporting the Care of the Elderly clinics including movement disorders, TIA, Frailty SDEC and Rapid Access Care of the Older Person (RACOP).
The general medical component of the position involves inclusion on a full shift rota with the Specialty Registrars. This is currently run over a 16-week period and includes long days, on-call, nights, twilights and weekend discharge shifts.
