Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Automotive Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of automotive systems and a passion for delivering high-quality service. As an Automotive Mechanic, you will play a crucial role in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles to ensure they operate efficiently and safely.
Duties
- Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify issues and determine necessary repairs.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks including oil changes, tyre rotations, and brake inspections.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment and tools.
- Repair or replace faulty components such as engines, transmissions, and exhaust systems.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used for each vehicle.
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding repair needs and provide recommendations.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean working environment.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an Automotive Mechanic or similar role is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of automotive systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems.
- Ability to use diagnostic tools and equipment effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Good communication skills to interact with customers and team members.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Vehicle Maintenance) are advantageous but not essential.
- A valid driving licence is required; additional qualifications in specialised areas (e.g., hybrid vehicles) are a plus.
