Overview
We are seeking a talented and creative Cake Decorator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for baking and decorating, with a keen eye for detail and an artistic flair. As a Cake Decorator, you will be responsible for creating visually stunning cakes and desserts that not only taste delicious but also delight our customers. This role requires a strong background in food production and culinary skills, as well as an understanding of food safety practices.
Responsibilities
- Design and decorate cakes and other baked goods according to customer specifications and seasonal themes.
- Prepare various types of icings, fillings, and cake batters while adhering to recipes and quality standards.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure timely production of cakes for special orders and events.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the decorating area, following all food safety guidelines.
- Assist in the training of junior staff in cake decoration techniques and best practices.
- Monitor inventory levels of decorating supplies and communicate needs to management.
- Stay updated on current trends in cake decoration to bring innovative ideas to the team.
Skills
- Proven experience in food production, particularly in baking and cake decoration.
- Strong culinary skills with an understanding of various baking techniques.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in a kitchen environment.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Excellent attention to detail with a creative mindset for designing unique cake decorations.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and customers.
- Previous experience in a restaurant or bakery setting is advantageous but not essential.
