Job Summary
We are looking for a reliable team member to assist in our butchery unit on a part-time basis.
Previous butchery experience is not required and we will provide full job training. There is the opportunity to learn butchery along the way if you were interested in this.
If you have previous butchery experience then we would also love to hear from you to discuss what suitable role we might have.
We are looking for someone to join us on a part-time, flexible basis for between 1-3 days a week, with extra hours available during busy periods. Shifts would generally be for 6-8 hours between 8am and 6:30pm. We are offering a starting wage of £12.50 /hour, rising with experience. We will provide all necessary training, including Food Handling & Hygeine certificate if you don't already have one.
Alongside our butchery, we also run an events catering company and keep our own pigs and turkeys. There may be additional work available helping with events and for adhoc farm work if this was of interest.
An immediate start is available, but we can be flexible for the right candidate
Job description
- Packaging meat items to customer specification and using vacuum packing machine
- Weighing and labelling items
- Picking customer orders
- Maintaining a clean and tidy workplace and assisting with daily, weekly & monthly cleaning
- Learning HACCP and Due Dilligence procedures and implementing these
- Learning butchery techniques beginning with mincing, sausage making, burger making, progressing to carcass butchery
- Customer deliveries (adhoc)
