Nottinghamshire County Council is seeking a well-organised, enthusiastic, and adaptable individual to join our Notts Outdoors service as a Business Support Administrator. This is a permanent, office-based role located at The Mill Adventure Base, a purpose-built urban adventure centre in Sutton-in-Ashfield.

The Mill Adventure Base provides a wide range of exciting and inclusive outdoor activities for children and young people from across Nottinghamshire and beyond. With on-site land-based activities, access to Kingsmill Reservoir for water sports, and opportunities for off-site adventures in the Peak District, The Mill offers both day and residential experiences that inspire learning, confidence, and personal development.

About the Role

As a Business Support Administrator, you will play a key role in supporting the operational delivery of outdoor education services. You will be responsible for a range of administrative and reception duties, including managing bookings, maintaining accurate records, and supporting the day-to-day running of the centre. The role requires a high level of professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to manage confidential information in accordance with GDPR.

This is a fully office-based position, and the successful candidate will be expected to work on-site at The Mill Adventure Base during their contracted hours.

You will be joining a small, friendly, and highly committed team of professionals who are passionate about outdoor learning and youth development. The team includes experienced instructors, centre staff, and administrative personnel who work collaboratively to deliver safe, engaging, and high-quality experiences. The team culture is supportive, inclusive, and focused on delivering positive outcomes for young people.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and reception support to the Notts Outdoors team
  • Manage bookings, correspondence, and documentation with accuracy and efficiency
  • Support the smooth running of the centre and assist in meeting service deadlines
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information in line with data protection regulations

Essential Requirements

  • Proven administrative experience and the ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent time management, organisational, and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritise a varied workload
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and SharePoint
  • A flexible and adaptable approach to work
