About Us
Seams and Dreams is a trusted alterations and dressmaking shop in the heart of Tamworth. Known for our quality workmanship and personal service, we’re a small, experienced team with a growing reputation. We’re now seeking a skilled Dressmaker to join us part-time.
The Role
Split across two areas:
1. Customer Service & Fittings
- Greeting clients in the shop
- Using our booking/till system to intake and track garments
- Attending fittings and pinning garments accurately (training provided)
2. Dressmaking & Alterations
- Altering and restyling dresses (casual, formal, bridal)
- Working with various fabrics and complex finishes
- Completing general alterations, including curtains and home textiles
- Operating industrial sewing machines to a high standard
What You’ll Need
- Experience in dressmaking and garment alterations
- Skill working from existing garments and modifying structure
- Confidence using industrial sewing machines
- Great attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship
- A proactive, adaptable approach

This is an in-shop role, based at our Tamworth premises.

- You are able to travel independently to Tamworth ready for 9am starts
- You are currently living in the UK and are legally able to work
- You know how to sew by machine!
- You understand you will be dealing with the public as part of the job
- You understand we open 7 days a week
