Enough about us, what’s the role?
As part of our continued growth, we are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to join our accounts team and support the day-to-day financial operations of the business.
The Bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, managing accounts payable and receivable, and assisting with month-end reporting. This is a critical role supporting both the Senior Accountant and Senior Leadership Team with timely and accurate financial data.
What's involved?
- Maintain accurate records of day-to-day financial transactions
- Process supplier invoices, credit notes, and staff expenses
- Reconcile bank accounts
- Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable functions
- Assist with payroll processing and HMRC submissions
- Support month-end and year-end close processes
- Produce financial reports as requested by the Senior Accountant
- Ensure compliance with VAT and other statutory requirements
- Liaise with external accountants and auditors as required
- Contribute to the improvement of finance processes and systems
What are we looking for?
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar finance role
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. Xero, Sage, QuickBooks)
- Strong knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping and UK VAT rules
- Excellent Excel skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- AAT or ACCA/CIMA qualified (or working towards) or equivalent experience
Details:
- Base salary: competitive, dependent on experience - £28,000-£32,000 per year
- Working pattern: 09:00 – 18:00, 5 days per week, Monday – Friday
- 20 days annual leave + 8 national bank holidays + 1 additional day off for your birthday
