The Role
We are looking for a skilled Bench Joiner/Machinist to join our production team. Your expertise in precision joinery, particularly in manufacturing doors and windows, will be essential to maintaining our high standards. Reporting to the Production Manager, you will be responsible for machining, assembling, and finishing a range of heritage-quality joinery components.
Key Responsibilities
- ✅ Precision Machining & Milling: Accurately machine and mill timber to fine tolerances and project specifications.
- ✅ Joinery Assembly: Expertly assemble bespoke timber doors, windows, and staircases.
- ✅ Stair Setting Out & Machining: Set out and machine stairs with precision and craftsmanship.
- ✅ Tool Operation: Safely operate a range of hand tools, power tools, and workshop machinery.
- ✅ Quality Assurance: Ensure all products meet rigorous quality and finish standards.
- ✅ Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with the Production Manager and team to meet project timelines and uphold workshop efficiency.
Skills & Experience Required
- ✔ Minimum 3 years' experience as a Bench Joiner or Machinist.
- ✔ Proven experience manufacturing timber doors and windows is essential.
- ✔ Strong understanding of technical drawings and specifications.
- ✔ Skilled in timber milling, joinery assembly, and stair production.
- ✔ Excellent attention to detail and pride in producing top-tier work.
- ✔ Competent in accurate measuring, marking, and basic mathematical calculations.
- ✔ Self-motivated with a passion for traditional joinery and high standards of finish.
